Worship Update for January 16, 2022

Dear St. James’ family,

In consultation with our Senior Warden and Music Director I have made the decision to move worship to Zoom this Sunday, 1/16/22. We will gather at 10:30 am, and the service will be livestreamed to Facebook as well.

The reason for this decision is twofold. First, I am sorry to report that a member of my family tested positive for Covid using an at home test last night. We all went to be officially tested today. We are following health guidelines for isolation for that person, and quarantining for the rest of us. This means that I will be unable to lead in-person worship this Sunday. In addition, there is another winter weather system on the horizon for Sunday. In true Maryland fashion, and this many days out, we could get anywhere from a dusting to 6 inches.

Instead of waiting until the last minute to see how it shapes up, we decided it made the most sense all things considered to go ahead and pivot to virtual worship, which I will be able to lead from home.

I understand that this is not ideal. The constant changing of plans and return to online church feels like going backwards. However I am hopeful that if we can get over this current surge, and as we move towards spring, we will once again be able to regather more fully. If you have questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out to me or Dave Rak.

In your mercy I ask for prayer for my family, that the illness may be mild and not spread. I will be working regular hours from home, so please email or call like normal with church related matters.

Yours in God’s peace,
Kristin+
