Finance Committee

FINANCE COMMITTEE
The duties of the Finance Committee are to oversee the financial operations of St. James’ Episcopal Church and to provide financial guidance to the Rector and the Vestry.  St. James’ is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Maryland Religious Corporation legally recorded as The Vestry of St. James’ Church in Carroll County. The corporation consists of St. James’ Episcopal Church and its subsidiaries, St. James’ Nursery School and St. James’ Thrift Shop. The finance committee is chaired by the Treasurer of St. James’ Church and members interact closely with the Church Bookkeeper and the Receiving Treasurer. Financial statements for all entities, which are prepared by the Bookkeeper, are reviewed monthly and financial accounts for all entities are audited monthly.  Annual budgets are prepared by the committee for approval by the Vestry and finally by the St. James’ congregation at the Annual Meeting.  Committee members, with the assistance of several parishioners, perform an Annual Audit of Best Business Practices, as required by the Canons of the Episcopal Church.  St. James’ parishioners with financial background are always welcome to join the Finance Committee. Please contact Natalie DelRegno (treasurer@stjamesmtairy.org) to inquire about becoming a committee member.
