Vestry

Timing is everything and everything is in God’s timing.  We were honored and blessed to announce at the celebration for our Replenish and Establish project, the total amount raised as of Sunday April 22, 2018 was $176,930.00.  During the 9:30 celebration, we participated in a festive coffee hour and thanked everyone for their sacrifice and contribution. In addition, we recognized the committee and vestry members that worked on the Replenish and Establish project.

As God’s timing would have it, part of our April vestry meeting was spent discussing some much needed repairs that we can no longer postpone nor put off.  These repairs/maintenance items include HVAC maintenance in the amount of $1,200.00, boiler maintenance of $475.00 and a backflow issue for our sprinkler system to the tune (not a hymn) of $2,266.00.

We are grateful that we can move forward with the repairs and maintenance knowing that together we are setting aside funds in our Replenish and Establish project that will address both unexpected and anticipated repairs and needs.  Please remember, if you have not had a chance to turn in your contribution envelope for the Replenish and Establish project, it’s never too late.  If you’ve turned in your envelope already, let me again say on behalf of the Saint James’ Vestry “Thank you!”

Peace

Thrift Shop

As the weather gets warmer the shop is busier than ever.

Our Wacky Wednesday was a lot of fun and Thrifty Thursday went off without a hitch. Sales were better than ever.

Next month we will be having our Supply Drive; this will be posted at the church. Donations are greatly needed and appreciated.  Click here to see what we need.

All of us here are looking forward to the Employee & Volunteer Appreciation Dinner on May 14th. The Thrift board spoils us with wonderful food and wonderful company.

We have a large assortment of Spring & Summer clothing, gently worn and new and tagged. The shop is filling with housewares and the kid’s room is exploding.

Come in and find your treasure!

Memorial Garden/Landscape

Spring, April, Garden, Flowers…….

A glorious shopping list that is found right outside in the Memorial Garden! Please take a peek out the windows or better yet, go for a stroll in the Garden the next time you visit. Many of the hardy, flowering perennials are in bloom at the fountain and with a few more sun-filled days, the pansies in the planters will wake back up.

With the Spring Clean Up Day this weekend, leaves will be removed from the wall area, and under the deck to reveal some planting opportunities. These shady and barren spots will enjoy some new additions. A cool and wet spring is the perfect time not only to “plant”, but also to “transplant” flowers. Several seasons of composting leaves and the soil has ideal conditions for adding plant material to the Garden this year.

The Memorial Garden is always looking for enthusiastic gardeners or rookies willing to lend a hand beautifying the space. Please contact Ashley Conlon if you would like to play in the dirt. Spectators and Diggers are always welcome!
