Hello, fellow pilgrims. You may have noticed the recent construction of our newest ministry platform on our church grounds—a vegetable garden to support our local food bank, Mt. Airy Net. This idea has been floating around for at least the past two years and is at long last coming to fruition through the tireless efforts of Blix Winston and his cadre of helping hands. It is very exciting. Our hope is that this garden will help support our local food bank whose patrons are steadily increasing as the economy becomes increasingly challenging.
We are in communication with Mt. Airy Net to determine which produce might be most helpful (and which would not). As we work out the finer details, we ask that you discern what role (if any) you might like to serve in this new ministry. Would you like to contribute vegetable seedlings/plants? Would you like to help water the garden? Would you like to help weed the garden? We will also need harvesters and deliverers. Is that an area in which you’d like to help? Reach out and let us know. We would love to hear from you.
Jesus said:
Whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do. (John 14:12
He also said:
Feed my lambs. Take care of my sheep. (John 21:15-16)
May we do our best to care for our fellow creatures as Christ would have us do. And may we share the fruits of God’s abundance widely and freely.
You are beautiful and you are beloved.
Angela+
