Vestry

It may have been quiet in Lake Wobegon, but the vestry has been busy lately.

Earlier this year, a sub-group of the vestry met with representatives from the Christian Lighthouse Church to discuss sharing our space on Sunday afternoons. Then, the entire vestry discussed advantages and disadvantages of establishing a space-sharing agreement during our May meeting. The discussion was extensive. We agreed not to proceed with sharing space on a regular basis but to continue to offer our space for individual events.

We are thankful for the work of our Nursery School Transition Team and Nursery School Board that resulted in selecting Amanda Norman as our new Executive Director.

The vestry is preparing for our upcoming sabbatical – Kristin will be away from July 1st through October 8th. This is definitely an opportunity for our rector and her family to grow. We should also use this chance for us to grow as a congregation. Several congregational activities are planned to “help us walk trustingly in faith with our parish family and to serve one another humbly”.

Our treasurer, Natalie DelRegno, updated the vestry on the financial training session provided by our diocese to parishes.

The scheduling of diocesan Covid meetings dropped from twice to once each month. We are monitoring rising case counts but for now our mitigation policies remain the same. Moving our Sunday services outdoors for the summer should help. Bring a lawn chair, we hope to see you out back at 9:30 starting this Sunday, May 29th. If the weather doesn’t cooperate we’ll move indoors, still at 9:30. Stay safe everyone.
