Sunday Worship Information

The Episcopal Diocese of Maryland has suspended all indoor worship due to increasing COVID-19 numbers until further notice.  We will continue our online service via Zoom and Facebook at 10:30 am.

We will “open the doors” beginning at 10:15 am for folks to greet each other and say good morning.  Kristin+ will give instructions at 10:25 am and we will begin recording and livestreaming the service promptly at 10:30 am.  Don’t worry if you’re late – you can still attend via Zoom if you “get to church” at 10:40!

Facebook Livestream
We plan to begin streaming to Facebook at 10:30 am.  If you arrive at Facebook and you don’t see the video, please refresh your screen.  There is a delay.

Due to the uncertainties of February’s winter weather predictions, the middle-high Sunday School classes will be postponed until March 7th.  At that time, we will resume our 9:30 a.m. indoor class in the sanctuary following masks/distancing/sanitizing guidelines.  During the rest of February, our teens are encouraged to attend Zoom worship at 10:30 a.m.  Once the nicer weather arrives, we will return to holding class in the outside Memorial Garden.

Sunday School classes will be held this coming Sunday, February 21 on Zoom for preschool-5th.

Nursery School

The St. James’ Nursery School staff and students continue to enjoy safe and fun lessons even as Punxsutawney Phil predicted 6 more weeks of winter. It seems like Ole Man Winter will be hanging around a little longer based on our recent weather pattern. Despite the cold, snow, ice, and Covid restrictions, staff have still been able to continue the traditions of Valentine’s Day activities, Chapel Time, and Bookmobile Storytime through Zoom. Our staff also continue presenting meaningful, pedagogically sound lessons for the students throughout these unchartered waters in which we swim.

Our Director, Pat Castle, created and implemented a new way to register for the pre-school, using Google Forms. The new “Virtual Registration” was well received by parents as less stressful and convenient. The Nursery school only has a few openings left, so if you are contemplating pre-school for your child, now is the time to register!

Rest assured, St. James’ Nursery School follows the Maryland Department of Health and Maryland State Department of Education guidelines for “Exclusion and Return for Laboratory Confirmed Covid 19 Cases and Persons with Covid-19-like Illness in Schools, Child Care Programs, and Youth Camps”. It is a comprehensive flow chart of guidance if a student or staff member exhibits Covid symptoms, or Covid-like symptoms. Due to the diligence of the staff in regard to these guidelines, our Nursery school students are thriving.

As a reminder, our school follows CCPS for closure due to inclement weather.
