Palm Sunday Worship & Coffee Hour ~ AND ~ Holy Week & Easter Information

Tomorrow we enter the holiest week of the Christian year, and this year it will be very different than we are used to.  Instead of gathering together to mark the journey from Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, through the events of the last supper, his crucifixion, and the miracle of the empty tomb, we will remain in our homes.  However, this does not mean we won’t still mark these days faithfully.

Linked is a Holy Week & Easter At Home resource with brief worship services designed for home use that can be used in lieu of livestreamed worship, or as a supplement to it.  If you prefer a printable version of this booklet, please click here.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed by everything, take a look at the activities for each day – they’re designed to be simple and fun!

I hope that everyone will take advantage of this opportunity to ritualize your faith more deeply in your homes, and plan to join us for virtual worship in the coming week.

 PALM SUNDAY

Join us for Zoom Palm Sunday worship at 9:30 am followed by Zoom Coffee Hour (click on the link below or use the phone number if you just want to call in to join), or watch the worship livestream on YouTube.

Because we won’t be able to pass out palms like usual, you are invited to grab any branch from your yard or print and use this coloring sheet.  Have them ready and we will still bless and wave our branches while singing All glory, laud, and honor!

ZOOM TIPS

We recognize that everyone has different levels of comfort with technology.  Here are some tips for those for whom this is new:

  • Follow the prompts from Zoom once you click on the link above, saying yes to audio and video
  • You can use a computer, a tablet, or a smartphone – they all have slightly different functionality, but we’ll try to help at the start of the gathering if needed
  • Let us see your face! If at all possible, please start a video feed so we can see each other face to face
  • We will begin with everyone unmuted so you can say hi as folks arrive, but then will mute everyone during worship itself. You will be invited to follow the service and respond in your home, but video lag makes unison praying awkward and difficult.
