Mount Airy Net

One way St. James’ supports our community is through our partnership with Mount Airy Net.  You can drop off donations at the shopping cart located in the narthex.

Mount Airy Net is a cooperative network of churches, civic organizations, and individuals providing a safety net of support and services for those in need.

Mount Airy Net operates within the town of Mount Airy, MD and  serves the four counties (Carroll, Frederick, Montgomery and Howard) that directly surround the town.  We provide local help for food, clothing, shelter, utility and other essentials.

  • FOOD:  We provide food carts on a monthly basis. These consist of a balance of food staples and personal care items. We also provide a  gift card when available to purchase fresh food or daily products.
  • GASOLINE:  Gas vouchers given to get to medical appointments, social service appointments or job interviews.
  • MEDICAL EXPENSES:  Assistance with paying for prescriptions in part or in full.
  • RENT ASSISTANCE:  We help prevent eviction  with the help of Department of Social Services.
  • ELECTRIC/OIL/PROPANE:  Emergency assistance with utility bills such as electric, heating oil or propane.
  • WATER:  Emergency assistance with water bills.

An army of local volunteers help to pack the distribution bags so that each individual or family receives a fairly balanced array of food to meet their nutritional needs as well as other items that the Pantry has in stock.  Suggested donations include:
