Our
Mission
|
|
To focus upon ministering to the
community as Jesus Christ ministered to the multitude, helping
return individuals and families to a state of physical, emotional,
and spiritual well being as a Christian community outreach
program.

Our
History
|
|
The St. James'
Thrift Shop was started many years ago, by a lifelong Mt. Airy resident and
members of St. James, in an old two-story building on Main Street.
The entire Mt. Airy community would drop off clothing, furniture and
appliances to the thrift shop for resale. For
many years, the volunteers of this shop would sort and resell the clothing and
other items that people donated. People
came from everywhere to stop and shop at the store because they knew there were
real bargains to be found. The
Thrift Shop also often donates clothing and household items to fire victims,
Pregnancy Crisis Center, Frederick Rescue Mission, Animal
Rescue, foster families, public schools, Lions Club, Mt. Airy
NET, Jaycees, and to those in our community experiencing a
hardship.

Donations
|
We
will gladly accept donations of clothing & household items
that are in good, re-useable condition. If you would like to
make a donation, please try to do so during the hours the store
is open. We will be happy to help you bring the items
inside.
Unfortunately, The Thrift Shop
cannot accept any type of furniture or large appliances such
as washing machines, etc. We do not have the space or the manpower to
accommodate such items. This includes mattresses and box springs
which are not
permitted to be resold due to health regulations.
Donations
from the community are extremely generous, and we are always
very thankful. The helping hands from our church family and community
friends also continue to help support all of our hard work.
