For the last several months the children at the St.
James' Nursery School have been participating in a
"Cuddle-up and Target Reading Program". We would like to
thank the Target Store Corporation and particularly the
Frederick Target for supporting our school by providing
a generous grant to support this program. We also
received a donation from the Mount Airy Kiwanis Club to
help purchase books. The focus of this project was
to encourage parents to read to their children daily and
to excite children about books and reading.
Children have earned free books by reading with their
parents each month.
Summer Program Registration for St. James'
Nursery School's Summer Program will begin for the
public on April 7, 2008 at the nursery school office at
1307 North Main Street. It is a flexible six-week
program. It is offered everyday from 9:00-11:30. We are
excited to announce that beginning this year we will
also offer a new extended day program from 11:30-2:00.
Your child can attend for only one week or a number of
weeks, not necessarily in sequence, depending on your
family's schedule. The Summer Program will be held from
June 23rd through August 8th with the exception of the
July 4th holiday week. The classes are available to all
3, 4 and 5 year old children in our community who have
not yet attended kindergarten and will have turned three
by 9/1/08 and are potty trained. Children need not have
attended the regular St. James' Nursery School program.

We currently have
opening remaining in our 3's two-days a week, Pre-K 4's
three-days a week, Pre-K 4/5's five day a week and our
4's Enrichment Classes. We are taking names onto our
Waiting List for our 2's program, which has filled.
