St. James’ Nursery School

Hello & Welcome Rev. Kristin Krantz
St. James’ Nursery School Board welcomes the 2015-2016 School year

St. James’ Nursery School Board hopes everyone had a wonderful summer!

St. James’ Nursery School teachers and staff are excited about providing a nurturing environment where children can learn and grow as they explore and discover the world around them. We are truly blessed to have such dedicated and wonderful staff and teachers. They consistently work together to create a stimulating curriculum throughout the school year. We truly appreciate their hard work and dedication they so unselfishly provide creating one of the best pre-schools in the area.

Sharon Hansen (St. James’ Nursery School Business Manager) has been working for our Nursery School for 30 years. Sharon has participated and witness many changes over the years. A very big, warm and appreciative thankyou goes out to her. We truly don’t know what our Nursery School would do without all her dedicated and professional support she has and continues to provide!

In this busy/crazy world of ours do you worry that your children are growing up too fast? Are you frustrated when they beg to watch television shows or movies with characters and activities that are just too old for preschoolers? We worry too. Let’s work together to protect our children and let them enjoy being preschoolers. Let’s let “Children Be Children” by following a few small steps:

  • Help your child become a unique individual with varied interests and abilities. Read to them, let them play and explore, and give them lots of hugs and love.
  • Put God into their lives. Teach them to pray and trust God. Enroll them in a Sunday School.
  • Be a Good Role Model for them. Children learn by what they hear and see.
  • Take time to “Listen” to Your Child. Ask them what they did today or what they liked the best during their day and/or what they didn’t like, etc.
  • The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting total “screen” time to no more than 1 to 2 Hours a Day for children older than 2 years. Make sure TV show con-tents/video games are for “preschool” children’s eyes and ears.
  • Pay attention to the music “You” listen to when they are with you (make sure it is age appropriate for them).
  • Dress your children like preschoolers, not teenagers.
  • Instead of TV or Video games ask your child to think of activities he or she enjoys (reading, doing a puzzle, tossing a ball, helping cook dinner, etc.).
  • Resist (rather than giving in) when children ask you to buy things you know are not good for them.
  • And last but not least enroll your preschooler in St. James’ Nursery School, you won’t be sorry. It is a positive beginning to their learning growth!

St. James’ Nursery School Board is looking forward to another Fantastic Year!
